Anupama Kowli

Professor, IIT Bombay

Anupama Kowli is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay. She has over 16 years of experience in research and academia. She works in the areas of power system operation, control and economics as well as building energy management and demand response. She has led high value, high impact projects in the areas of demand side management and renewable integration. She was invited as visiting faculty at KTH, Sweden; University of Cambridge, UK; and IISc, India. She has also been an invited participant to two separate conferences by National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, USA.

Anupama has worked with several industry partners. Of note is her work on smart building analytics for MuRata Engineering, smart meter data analytics tools with SustLabs and India Power Corporation Limited, and simulation and control of residences with hybrid power sources with Enphase Energy. She has been awarded the Departmental Excellence in Teaching award at IITB and is also the recipient of the Prahlad P Chhabria Award for Best Woman Professional (Early Career) by Hope Foundation and Research Centre and IEEE India Council. Recently, she has been selected for the TIH-IoT Faculty Fellowship for working on connected buildings
