This initiative curates and shares practical insights from real-world projects across energy, buildings, and mobility sectors. By highlighting successes, challenges, and key lessons learned, it aims to inspire innovation and accelerate the adoption of sustainable solutions. Submissions should provide grounded, real-world experiences, offer practical takeaways, and include actionable recommendations for wider application.

Objective

Submissions should highlight tangible applications of technologies, processes, or business models within the energy, buildings, mobility, or related sectors, irrespective of their ultimate success, and identify key lessons, challenges, and risks.

  • Implementation Reality: Operational, socio-economic, or regulatory challenges faced
  • Critical Reflection: What worked, what didn’t, and why

Eligibility Criteria

The following criteria are provided to distinguish a true case study from a standard research case study. Submissions should offer demonstrable real-world insights, practical lessons, and actionable recommendations.

Real-World Implementation

  • Submissions must describe a live project or deployment (pilot, demonstration, or roll-out).
  • Theoretical or simulation-based studies are not acceptable.

Defined Scope & Stakeholders

  • The submission must clearly delineate the case boundaries, encompassing geographical scope, timeline, and scale. Key stakeholders (e.g., partners, funders, and end-users) should be explicitly identified.

Experience and Data Driven Insights

  • Submissions should incorporate relevant quantitative or qualitative data (e.g., performance metrics, user surveys), accompanied by detailed information regarding data sources, collection methodologies, and any recognized limitations.

Challenges, Risks & Lessons

  • Document major challenges faced and the mitigation strategies used. Share actionable lessons or recommendations for future practitioners.
  • Submissions should incorporate relevant quantitative or qualitative data (e.g., performance metrics, user surveys), accompanied by detailed information regarding data sources, collection methodologies, and any recognized limitations

Reflection, Originality & Ethics

  • Submissions should provide a candid and insightful reflection on failures and learning experiences

Instructions

  • Please make a new full case study submission using the ConfTool.
  • To enable the blind review process, please do not include your name, affiliation, and acknowledgment on the draft submitted for review. This information will be requested in the final submission.
  • Please use the template provided when preparing your manuscripts.
  • The manuscript must be a minimum and maximum of 6-10 pages, excluding references.
  • Upload your submission as a PDF file (≤10MB).
  • Please name your full case study file using the format contribution-id_corresponding-author-name (example – 428_Saumya_Kumar). Ensure the file name does not contain special characters, umlauts, or spaces.
  • The submission deadline is July 31, 2025 (Midnight IST).
  • Disclosure and instructions on the use of AI tool(s) are given in the template.
  • To ensure your case study is considered for review, please format it as per the Energise case study template. Failure to meet this requirement may lead to rejection.
