Dr. Gayathri Aaditya

Professor, NITTE School of Architecture Planning and Design

Dr. Gayathri Aaditya is a Professor and Head of Planning department at the NITTE School of Architecture Planning and Design, Bangalore and is focused on creating an impact through energy sufficiency in buildings. Her research looks into building integrated photovoltaic systems and climate responsive architecture, especially at the thermal comfort aspects minimizing the use of active cooling. She has completed her PhD from the Center for Sustainable Technologies at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and has a post-graduation in urban and rural planning from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. An architect and planner by profession, she has worked in design firms prior to her research career. She received the prestigious BHAVAN fellowship award and was a research affiliate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley.
