Mili is the Managing Director of Green Business Certification Institute Pvt. Ltd. (GBCI) India and Senior Vice President, Innovation and Research, at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). She leads USGBC’s innovation and research portfolio, heading a team of experts responsible for driving thought leadership, identifying market opportunities, expanding the green building knowledge base, and shaping product strategy and optimisation. As a strategic business partner to USGBC, she oversees innovation and research across global products, including USGBC and GBCI standards, education, publications, events, and data services.

An architecture graduate and building technologies specialist, Mili brings over three decades of experience in energy and environmental sustainability, with a focus on sustainable habitat development. Her extensive work spans green buildings, climate-resilient housing, urban planning, and transportation. She has led international teams in developing a range of sustainability rating systems for habitats and related infrastructure, which have gained wide recognition in India and globally.

Mili is a member of the Committee for the Formulation of Energy Conservation Building Codes for India and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Committee for revising the National Building Code. She also serves on the boards of the Global Buildings Performance Network, Paris, and GBCI India.

A recognised leader in India’s green building movement, Mili has received several accolades, including the Construction World Woman of the Year (2011) and Realty Plus Woman Icon in Sustainability (2021). Beyond her professional pursuits, she is an avid music enthusiast with a passion for gardening, travel, and heritage exploration.
