Dr. Vanita Ahuja
Dr. Vanita Ahuja is Director RICS School of Built Environment – Noida and Group Academic Head (Design and Built Environment), Amity Education Group in India. In this role she looks at promoting multi-disciplinary education for Built Environment Sector aligned with industry requirements and the need of trans – disciplinary research and practice for achieving National and Global vision of inclusive and sustainable society. Formerly, Dr. Ahuja was Director, National Institute of Design Haryana, an Institute of National Importance established by Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. She is an Architect with specialization in Construction Project Management and has +25 years of industry and academic experience. She has worked on projects of varying nature like residential and school projects, commercial projects and has also provided consultancy for infrastructure projects. She is passionate about research, her papers have been published in International Journals and she has presented papers in International Conferences. She has co-authored a book titled ‘Indian Project Management Case Studies’, contributed chapters in books published by International publishers and has been on the editorial board of prestigious journals like Emerald journals. In policy making area she is part of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Sectional Committee and working groups drafting codes for ‘Construction Project Management’ and has also contributed in tasks of ‘Quality Council of India’. She contributes actively for industry and academic outreach tasks. She volunteers for PMI at national and global level and was awarded global level prestigious award ‘Eric Jennet Project Management Excellence Award 2020’. Education for all in society is a subject close to her heart and she is associated with NGO Godhuli providing education to street/ slum children.

The three main global energy concerns of providing access to modern energy, enhancing the security of the energy supply, and minimising the impact of energy systems on the climate have an impact on both national and international energy governance. To develop solutions that address the many facets of these difficulties, however, a variety of actors and stakeholders must be included due to the complexity of the energy challenges.
Cities are responsible for more than 70% of the world’s energy consumption and 40% to 50% of its greenhouse gas emissions. Managing increasing urbanisation is a challenge, and nations must deal with the effects it will have on the environment in terms of energy and climate.
Our transition to a future with lower carbon emissions depends heavily on buildings. They are our places of residence, rest, and employment; they also account for around one-third of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions and nearly 40% of the world’s energy usage.
